Why You Should Hire a Copywriter

December 13, 2018

Short Answer:

You are an entrepreneur, not a writer, and you have a million other things to do to keep your business up and running.

Long Answer:

  • Copywriters are experts in catching your vision and writing it down.

I can’t tell you how many hours I could spend discussing my business goals and dreams, but as soon as I sit down to write about it, nothing comes to mind. I mean total writers block. My experience with hiring copywriters to produce content usually looks like me spilling my guts and rambling on for an hour and them turning it into pure magic.

  • Grammar. Grammar. Grammar.

I know, I know. I went to college, I should know all of this stuff. We learned it in elementary school right? Well, guess what? I still don’t get it right all the time, and it is nice to have help in that department from someone who studied it.

  • A third party perspective on your business.

This one doesn’t always feel good but sometimes as founders we can get so stuck in the everyday grind that it is helpful to have someone with an unbiased perspective voicing new ideas.

  • Keeping your brand “voice” consistent.

I am a strict believer in brand consistency across all platforms. However, it’s a lot easier to accomplish with all things visual. Your brand “voice” needs to stay consistent too, which is a little harder to achieve. Copywriters are able to identify your voice and implement it throughout your entire website so that every piece of your brand feels cohesive.

  • There is not enough time in the day.

As a founder, you bounce from admin, to design, to meetings with clients, to finances, to whatever else you are managing in a day. If you are able to take something off your plate and you can afford it, do it. Focus on your area of expertise, that is your money maker.

We can’t do it all, so why not leave the copy to the experts?

You are an entrepreneur, not a writer, and you have a million other things to do to keep your business up and running.
